Paul Jaboulet Aîné Côtes du Rhône Parallèle “45” 2009 Red Wine

Paul Jaboulet Aîné Côtes du Rhône Parallèle “45” 2009 Red Wine, (60% Grenache-40% Syrah) $8.49-$14.99, 86 points, began in the glass an opaque ruby trending rosewood to the broad transparent rim.
Earth and a floral note with teased blackberry on the nose was pleasant.
Medium body carried fair acidity and tannin along with a somewhat thin though good flavor profile of plum, boysenberry, blackberry, and hints of roasted coffee.
Sorry, I didn't pick-up on any red fruit despite the photograph.
Finished fair with spice notes and a touch of the 14% alcohol.
Quality to price ratio (QPR) magnifies this red wine's value as a table wine, one I'd would definitely be proud to serve.

  1. Had this very wine last night except the 2010 version. I peg it an 85-87 as well, but I didn't taste too much of it before it got drained. $9.99 - hard to find a better value than that. Jaboulet is the real deal.
