Bonny Doon 2014 I Am Not Drinking Any &%&*#! Merlot, $20.99-$24.99, 88 points, poured a deep classic purple/red with a crystalline transparent wine ring.
Aromatic blueberry, red raspberry, black fruit, with hints cigar-box and a soft floral component were good.
Medium-bodied with good acidity and layered grainy tannin carried flavors reflective of the aromas.
Finished long on plum, licorice, warm spices, and 13.3% alcohol.
Paired well with my traditional rib eye steak and mashed potatoes.
Varietals were 76% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 5% Syrah, 1% Grenache and 1% Mourvedre.
