Tannat, The Black 'Cat' With Furry Tannins.

Tannat, the black 'cat' with furry tannins.

Tannat is a big dark tough red wine that Uruguay has made delicious, but it's home is France's Madiran (South West France), Irouléguy (AOC certified), and Côtes de St. Mont, but Tannat isn't confined to this set of geographical locations (Tablas Creek has 3.5 acres under cultivation in California).
Tanat wines aren't common, but as I find them, I buy them, and following are my reviews.

  1. VM and I were just discussing Tannat last night (one made by a local producer) and just how tannic it is.
