Spottswoode 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

Spottswoode 2013 Sauvignon Blanc, $33.29-$36.99, 92 points, poured a light golden color trending water-clear at the glass shallows.
Gooseberry on the nose was good!
This light-bodied white wine with mouth-watering acidity was quite sleek.
And yes: Gooseberry from stem to stern was the flavor note(s), but dash the thought that this was a simple wine lest thou should fail to explore a 'once~upon~a~time' profoundly near New Zealand-like SB from Cali. Tangerine and lemon zest/lime added good flavor accents to the grapefruit and slightly sour notes.
Finished long and strong on accelerating white pepper and ginger spices with some notice of the 14.2% alcohol and green melon.
Twas a tad big-ticketed, but without tasting, how would I have known just how good the Spottswoode was?
