Del Rio Vineyards Rogue Valley Claret (Bordeaux-styled Red Wine), 87 points, $14.99-$34.99, poured a patchwork of mottled blacks and deep purple/reds, a broad clear meniscus, and moderately heavy legs.
First smells were a bit funky, but that soon dissipated and was replaced with cedar and soft red fruit notes.
Medium-bodied red wine with good acidity and a bit of astringency managed to deliver a moderately round mouth-feel and flavors reflective of the aromas plus a tinge of mulberry.
Finished fair (a tad thin) and dry with easy pepper spices and a balanced 13.9% alcohol.
Paired well my stuffed green peppers.
Varietals were 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Malbec, and 10% Cabernet Franc.
