Elderton Barossa Valley 2012 Shiraz, $18.69-$23.99, 88 points, poured an opaque purple/red with thin reddish and clear penumbras.
Smells were earthy, plumy (even a bit sour), and with a hint of cedar.
Full-bodied red wine with good acidity, mellow tannins, and black-fruity flavors holding their own with a lovely licorice.
Finished well on the trailing palate, cola, white pepper, and a warm 14% alcohol.
Paired fine with my pepperoni pizza.
