Château Cantemerle, Grand Cru Classé en 1855, Haut-Médoc 2014 red Bordeaux,
$28.04-$32.99, 91 points, poured core black grading purple/red toward the glass shallows, clear wine ring, and bowl of moderately fat legs.
Aromatic blackberry, mulberry, sea mist, and sandalwood were outstanding.
Near full-bodied with good acidity and remarkably accommodating blended tannins carried tobacco, plum, truffle, and coffee flavors along with those of the aromas; quite a silky texture.
Finished well on easy warm pepper, the fading palate, strong tobacco notes, and an easy 13% alcohol.
Varietals are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.
Paired perfectly with our Friday night's pizzas.
