Tolaini Al Passo IGT Tuscan 2011 Red Wine, $22.94-$26.99, 91 points, poured an opaque ruby red with a clear rim and heavy clinging drapes.
Aromatic cherry fruit with nuanced coffee, truffle, and mint were excellent.
Medium-bodied with good acidity and mellow supportive tannins carried intense flavors of plum, spice, and less so those reflective of the bouquet.
Finished incredibly long on the trailing palate with intensifying warm spice and tobacco notes crowned with a well-balanced 13.5% alcohol.
Varietals were Sangiovese and Merlot.
