Château Larcis Ducasse 1er Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion 2014 Bordeaux Red Wine,
$56.09-$65.99, 94 points, poured near black grading opaque purple/red with a clear wine ring and heavily draped glass bowl.
Aromatic crème de cassis, black licorice, and black olives were outstanding.
Full-bodied with good acidity and comfortable, grainy, and yet firm tannins managed rich flavors reflective of the aromas plus violets.
Finished very long on the licorice, a hint of plum, cola notes, and warm alcohol (14.5%) inspirited pepper spice.
Varietals were 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
Paired perfectly with my spice rubbed bone-in rare Angus rib eye.

Very fancy. What a great blend, but a little young perhaps? Did you buy two?
ReplyDeleteVG: Not too young, but I wished I could afford two bottles!
