Ryan Patrick Rock Island Columbia Valley 2015 Chardonnay, $15.29-$17.99, 91 points, was a medium shade of gold.
Aromas were a sweet blend of subtle mint, honeysuckle, and apple.
Medium-bodied with good acidity trekked the tightrope balance of tweaking pome fruit flavors against Northwest acclaimed delicate vanilla notes, mango and mint against the illusion of butterscotch.
Finished long and complex on the fading palate, peach, restrained, but enduring ginger notes, and a potent 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my honey fried chicken and Japanese Rangoon.
This is a stunning Chardonnay with a stunning price, and definitely a best buy; serve this one and surprise your friends that are on the fence when it comes to Chardonnay (as I once was).
