Benziger Sonoma County 2014 Merlot, $12.59-$15.99, 86 points, poured an impenetrable purple/red with a bleeding wine ring and thick stained legs.
Smelled herbal with blueberries and a hint of mint.
Full-bodied red wine with fair acidity and rich soft tannins carried herbal plum and blueberry flavors nuanced with tobacco and cola.
Finished well on the fading palate, pepper spices, licorice, and an appropriate 13.5% alcohol.
Paired fine with our cheeseburgers.

I love cola in wine...the essence, not the real thing :)
ReplyDeleteVG: I'm sure. You want coke and alcohol, you need to have a Bacardi and coke.
