Robert Mondavi Oakville 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, $48.44-$62.99, 95 points, poured core black grading Bordeaux purple/red with a bleeding meniscus and dense stained glass sheeting.
Aromatic black licorice, floral incense, iodine, pencil, and a soft black currant smell were fantastic.
Full-bodied red wine embraced a soft mouth-feel, showed good acidity, sported a solid underlayment of tannin, and delivered generous flavors of red fruit, plum, and violets.
Finished long on a well-balanced 15% alcohol-infused trailing palate while being tart, herbal, spicy, dry, and nuanced with cinnamon and clove.
Best R. Mondavi wine I've tasted.

Good review... and this isn't even the Reserve (To Kalon).
ReplyDeleteVG: The reserve is three times as much.
