Madrigal Napa Valley 2010 Petite Sirah, $23.99-$31.99, 88 points, poured broadly black with a blood red penumbra, clear meniscus, and sticky stained tears.
Aromas were herbaceous with lovely smoky blackberry and cloves.
Full-bodied red wine with fair acidity and a supportive underlayment of tannin delivered flavors reflective of the aromas.
Finished well on black cherry syrup, mild pepper spiciness and a noticeable 14.5% alcohol.
Paired fine with our Texas burgers.

Madrigal's Zin used to be one of my favourites. Then it went off...or perhaps my palate changed.
ReplyDeleteVG: For the price, I wasn't impressed.
