I began wine blogging 14 years ago today.
What have I learned?
Tasting wine is knowing wine, though if you are interested in the place, people, and geography of vineyards that's great if you are ABLE to glean such things.
Like any other business, the wine industry has elevated some and destroyed others.
Vinogirl is missed greatly.
Wine is food, and that is debated, but to me, it is as much food as white bread and tap water.
Preppers need to understand that some wines keep for 40 years and others for maybe 4.
There's too much confusion about wine and too much merchandising (hype).
Wine without alcohol is juice.
Try some really expensive wines and get over it.
Settle down on reasonably priced wines, match that to quality/price /ratio tested with experience or someone you trust.
Everyone has a different palate, discover yours.
Don't be afraid to taste something different.
Drink modestly and with a meal.
Celebrating with a sparkling wine is a fair tradition; don't knock it.
Wine labels are still cool and often very artistic.
Well, here's to my blogging friends! Salute!
