Cantine Povero Priore 2019 Barolo (DOCG), $33.59-$41.99, 94 points, poured a brandy-red color with a cranberry-red cast, a broad clear meniscus, and a clear glass sheet breaking into a neckless close to where the wine and glass met.
A lovely bouquet of floral cinnamon infused red cherry, black tea, and hints of pine rein and raisins were intoxicating.
As with the 2017 vintage this 2019 was medium-bodied, showed bright acidity, firm grainy tannins, an angular mouthfeel, and delicious flavors reflective of the bouquet.
Finished long on cayenne pepper, a bit tart, puckering tannins, and a well-balanced 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my spaghetti and meatballs.
