Taveggia 2022 Barbera D'Asti DOCG, $9.99-$19.99, 86 points, poured a deep ruby red with sticky glass sheeting and a broad clear meniscus.
The fruity strawberry aroma was accented with Sambuca, earth notes, and a floral vibe.
This Barbera red wine was medium-bodied, bone-dry, brightly acidic, a bit astringent showing an underlayment of tannin and a rather linear flavor profile reflective of the nose with a constant alcohol (14.5%) presence/companion.
Finished fair, slightly green but still tasty as it paired okay with my spaghetti in a tomato/basil meat sauce.
