Villa Cerna Primocolle 2022 Chianti Classico, $9.79-$24.99, 88 points, poured a deep/dark ruby red with a cast of orange tinge, a very broad clear wine ring, and sticky glass sheeting.
Aromas of black tea, a perfumed strawberry, red cherry, and delicate plum blossoms was rather simple yet pleasant.
As is typical for Chianti Classico, this was medium-bodied, bone-dry, appropriate food friendly acidic, showed fine grainy tannins, and a red fruit flavor profile nuanced with tea and dried herb notes.
Finished long, a bit spicy, showed hints of mint and a creamy brandy with a spot-on 13.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my spaghetti and lamb/beef tomato sauce.
