Anima Negra ÀN/ 2 Mallorca 2008 Red Wine, $17.99-$24.99, 89 points, had an unusually crystal-clear coppery red color with a very broad clear rim.
Bits of coffee, fresh-cut hay, and earth tones revealed an aroma that was only okay.
The acidic medium-plus body carried noticeable tannin and spice throughout the palate and into the finish of plum notes reminiscent of Japanese plum wine with peripheral hints of red cherry along the way.
The Anima Negra ÀN/ 2 was a well balanced red wine, with a moderately round mouth-feel and overall good flavor.
