Bogle 2010 Pitite Sirah, $10.99-$13.99, 87 points, reflects crystal-clear purple-red colors, near opaque at the core and ringed with a broad clear rim.
Aromatically, this Pitite Sirah hints at red fruit and just a touch of fresh earth.
Bitter notes detract from the red fruit flavor of this medium-plus bodied dry red wine, and with noticeable acidity and tannin, the finish also falters with less spice and length than did the 2007.
It appears that the three years of hiding the 2007 in my basement may have been a good thing, though the 2007 is not as vibrant as the 2010, it was more delicious and more pleasant.
