Château de Chantegrive Graves 2009 Bordeaux,
$19.54-$22.99, 87 points (50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon), has the most purple of colors I've seen in a long time, but there are ruby hues as well.
The toasty vegetable smells are not that pleasant to me, and foreshadow a vegetative palate.
A near full bodied wine with good acidity and noticeable tannin blossoms lush and round, having black currant and boysenberry flavors, working well with saucy cuisine, but as a stand-alone wine, falls short for me.
Finishing a bit green, Château de Chantegrive winds down with less than I'd hoped for in a Grand Vin Bordeaux.
