Norton, Mendoza 2010 Reserva Malbec, $16.14-$20.99, 89 points (consider WE's score on the label), appeared an opaque Concord grape purple trending lighter in color up to the clear rim and leggy glass wall.
A slight toasty blackberry aroma with a gentle perfume note needed considerable teasing.
Near full bodied with bright acidity and moderately smooth tannin carried considerable licorice and damson plum onto the palate with just a hint of tobacco.
Finished fair and flavorful with the trailing palate, a light white pepper, and a some heat (14.5% alcohol), but also a bit of astringency.
