PAPA'S ALL~BLACKS North Coast Old Vines 2011 Red Wine, $25.49-$29.99, 90 points, began on the glass wall rather leggy with a thin clear rim, and trended an opaque Concord grape purple with a pink hue.
Possessed a subtle, but pleasant nose of toasty blackberry, coffee, and cedar.
Near full-bodied with bright acidity and moderate tannin which carried Zinfandel-like black fruit onto the palate with a floral note, but a bit astringent.
Finished long with blackberry cordial, cayenne, tart Marionberry, and hint of the 14% alcohol.
