J (California) 2013 Pinot Gris, $14.99-$18.99, 92 points, began in the glass gray trending water clear with just the finest gold tint.
The nose was lovely pome flowers and ripe melon with a hint of orange.
Near medium bodied with fair-plus acidity carried subtle fruit flavors, especially apricot and pear on wet stone.
Finished long on black pepper, ginger, and mint.
I found myself just sipping this nuanced and magnificent white wine; Pinot Gris is often viewed as a quaffing white wine, but not the 2013 J PG.
