J.Lohr Paso Robles 2013 Merlot, $13.99-$18.99, 87 points, poured core black trailing a deep purple/red toward the thin clear wine ring.
Aromatic lavender, cedar, allspice, and plums were good.
Near full-bodied with fair-plus acidity and sweet luscious tannins managed pleasant varietal specific flavors of plums, blackberry, dried herbs, and mulling spices.
Finished fair on the trailing palate, chocolate, hints of tobacco, and a well-integrated 13.5% alcohol.
Paired great with my veggie pizza.
