Weingut Lagler 1000Elmerberg Smaragd 2015 Riesling (Wachau, Austria) $18.69-$21.99, 89 points, appeared straw yellow in color.
Aromas were shy honeysuckle and quince.
Light-plus body with mouth-watering acidity managed excellent flavors of quince with a subliminal hint of spritz, a whisper of vanilla, and good ginger notes.
Finished dry, though this wine is so fruity tasting, you would think it is almost sweet; the finish was basically the trailing palate with a hint of lime and a well-integrated 13.5% alcohol.
Paired okay with my Maryland crab cakes, but paired better with Fresh Market's pecan pie for dessert.
