Marchesi di Barolo 2010 'Barolo' (DOCG), $25.49-$42.99, 90 points, was a bright ruby grading a light garnet red toward the clear wine ring and moderately draped glass wall.
Aromas were shy floral, red raspberry, and cocoa.
Medium-bodied with good acidity, tempered tannins, and interesting flavors of ripe red raspberry, licorice, and plum.
Finished well on the trailing palate, black tea, easy spices, a bit metallic, and an appropriate 14% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our meat-lovers Italian styled pizza.
