Villa Antinori 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva (DOCG)

Villa Antinori 2011 Chianti Classico Riserva (DOCG), $22.94-$32.99, 91 points, poured a lovely wine red color with a moderately wide clear wine ring and leggy glass bowl.
Aromatic black fruit, roses, anise, a touch herbal, and a hint of cocoa were superior.
Full-bodied with good acidity and round substantial tannins supported a rather unusual BIG Chianti marked by more than its weight, but by flavors of a rich black cherry liqueur, blackberry, cocoa, and plum; those that are enamored with lush soft Merlots just might find this Sangiovese to their liking.
Finished simply on the trailing palate and an appropriate14% alcohol.
Varietals were 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot.
