Château Grand Corbin-Despagne St. Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2015 Red Bordeaux, $32.72-$38.49, 92 points, poured core black grading a deep purple/red toward the broad clear meniscus and glass bowl burdened with heavy stained sheeting.
Smells of blended black fruit jams, a faint floral vibe, and three Cs (clove, cinnamon, and coffee) were excellent.
Full-bodied (dry) red wine with good acidity, firm grainy tannins, and flavors reflective of the aromas came together well.
Finished long, more on fruit, but a bit of earth, mint, and a 14% alcohol infused pepper spiciness tied a lovely bow for a stimulating climax.
Varietals were 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Paired perfectly with my spice-rubbed Angus ribeye.
