Château Siran Margaux 2016 Bordeaux Red Wine

Château Siran Margaux 2016 Bordeaux Red Wine, $31.87-$37.49, 92 points, poured a deep purple/red with a clear wine ring and copious stained legs.
Aromas of red raspberry jam, cocoa, a floral vibe, with a hint of cinnamon and clove were excellent.
Full-bodied dry red wine with good acidity, firm grainy tannins, and flavors reflective of the aromas presented a sophisticated, pairable, and delicious tipple.
Finished long on the trailing palate, warm pepper spices, and a well-balanced 14% alcohol.
Paired well with my spice-rubbed T-bone steak.

Château Bellonne Saint Georges Saint-Emilion Grand Vin De Bordeaux 2016 Bordeaux Red Wine, $12.32-$14.49, 87 points, poured a deep ruby red with copious stained legs and a thin clear meniscus.
Aromas were fruity and
herbaceous.
A full-bodied dry red wine with fair acidity, a supportive underlayment of tannin, and flavors of mulberry, cocoa, black tea, and tart citrus worked well together.
Finished fair on a potent 14.5% alcohol, easy spices, and a metallic touch.
Paired fine with my beef/vegetable stew.

Aromas of cinnamon, clove, and dried cooking herbs nuanced with chocolate, a floral vibe, anise, and red fruit were excellent.
A full-bodied bone-dry red wine with bright acidity, fine grainy tannins, and rich flavors throughout that reflected the aromas showed power and subtlety.
Finished long on a 14.5% alcohol infused spiciness and iron.
Paired fine with my supreme pizza.
This is a high QPR red wine (a definite buy recommendation)!

Tolaini Al Passo IGT Tuscan 2016 Red Wine

Tolaini Al Passo IGT Tuscan 2016 Red Wine, $21.24-$26.99, 89 points, poured a deep purple/red color with a broad clear rim and copious stained legs.
The bouquet was a bit earthy, funky, and plumy with a hint of iodine.
Medium to medium/plus-bodied dry red wine with good acidity, supportive tannins, and flavors of plum, black tea, and iron were enlivened with easy spices and what seemed to be an under-rated 13.5% alcohol. Finished well on the fading palate.
Paired fine with my sweet Italian sausage.

Veneto Primo Amore N/V Moscato

Veneto Primo Amore N/V Moscato, $9.99-$12.99, 88 points, was a very light brass color turning clear long before the rim and showing a bit of Vinho Verde frizzante-like fizz.
Gentle and lovely aromas of Honey dew melon, lime, and warmed Clementine zest impressed.
Light-bodied sweet white wine showed enough tartness and acidity to avoid being cloying, but not enough to to be more than a tasty tipple gulper. Flavors followed the aromas with a touch of lemon-bitters and a trailing fair finish with a 7% ABV.
Paired well with both Mexican and Asian cuisine.

Château Réaut de Grand Vin De Bordeaux 2016 Bordeaux Red Wines

Château Réaut de Grand Vin De Bordeaux 2016 Bordeaux Red Wines, $11.89-$13.99, 89 points, poured an opaque garnet red with thick stained legs and a clear meniscus.
Aromas of soft Allspice, slightly sour plums, violets, and a hint of mocha were interesting if not fragrant.
Near full-bodied dry red wine with good acidity, firm grainy tannin, and flavors reflective of the aromas.
Finished long, tart, and tight with a lively 14% alcohol.
Paired well with my cheeseburger.
This is not a classic red Bordeaux in that it lacks much of the fruit in a typical "young" Bordeaux, but still is lean and has a high QPR.
Varietals were 58% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.

Bodega Señorío de Beade Ribeiro 2019 White Wine, $14.44-$16.99, 88 points, was a light yellow/gold color with a clear penumbra.
Light aromas of lime, lemon-grass, mandarin zest, and pome flowers were pleasant.
A light juicy off-dry white wine with good acidity and white grape, tangy citrus, and lemon oil flavors showed bright and tasty.
Finished fair on the fading palate, a vibrant minerality, and I believe a miss labeled 14.1% alcohol.
Varietals were 60% Albarino and 40% Treixadura.
Paired perfectly with my fried Ipswich clams.

Bersano 'Costalunga' 2017 Barbera d'Asti D.O.C.G., $11.89-$27.99, 88 points, poured a deep violet red with a broad clear wine ring and copious stained legs.
A great bouquet of graphite, lake water, lavender, and orange zest impressed.
A medium-bodied dry red wine with good acidity, a firm underlayment of tannin, and flavors of iron, a thin rendition of red raspberry, cherry-bitters, and black tea manifested the high QPR of this food friendly wine.
Finished long on the iron, easy spice notes, and a well-balanced 14% alcohol.
Paired great with our Italian sub-sandwiches.

Aromas were soft floral notes, black tea, and a hint of shoe polish.
Medium-bodied bone-dry red wine with bright acidity, firm grainy tannins, and substantial flavors of red fruit, black tea, iron, and cherry cola were lively and intense.

Château La Fleur Saint Georges Lalande-de-Pomerol 2016 Bordeaux Red Wine, $16.59-$19.49, 91 points, poured an opaque ruby red with a garnet red penumbra, a thin clear wine ring, and copious clear legs.
The bouquet was a cornucopia of fruit with plum being dominant, but soft floral perfume notes with a hint of citrus accented them nicely.
A round full-bodied not quite dry red wine with good acidity, firm/comfortable tannins, rich flavors of red fruit, cola, loam, and lingering plum.
Finished long on the trailing palate, black olives, iron, easy pepper spices, and an underwhelming 13.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my sweet sausage ravioli in a marinara sauce.

Château D'esclans "Whispering Angel" Côtes de Provence 2019 Rosé, $10.19-$11.99 (375ml), 87 points, was a light peach pink and clearing before the rim.
Aromas of strawberries, maraschino cherries, white toast, and a floral vibe were lovely.
A light-bodied
Rosé with a rather thin rendition of flavors reflective of the aromas, but the finish was a great crescendo of spice and the 13% spike of alcohol.
Paired fine with my Mexican cuisine.

Castello Di Bossi Berardo 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva

Castello Di Bossi Berardo 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva, $23.79-$29.99, 92 points, poured a deep sienna color with dense sticky legs and a broad clear meniscus.
Aromas of violets, earth, and a red raspberry perfume were delightful.
A medium-bodied bone-dry red wine with bright acidity, grippy grainy tannins, and a tart red fruit flavor profile nuanced with black tea, spearmint, and a hint of truffles was delicious if a bit tight at this point.
Finished on the trailing palate, iron, and a compatible 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my meatball/provolone sub. Look to pairing this with most tomato-based Italian dishes, but will manage with great respect stews, steaks, ribs, and of course even white-sauced pizzas.

Aromas of soft Pumelo, orange zest, and pome flowers were lovely.
A light-bodied off-dry white wine with fair to good acidity and tart flavors of lime, flat grapefruit, and melon rind were okay.
Finished rather week with a bit of ginger and a well-balanced 12.5% alcohol.

Domaine Du Colombier 2018 Chablis

Domaine Du Colombier 2018 Chablis, $21.24-$26.99, 90 points, was a very light yellow-gold color and water clear towards the rim.
Aromas of apples, pome blossoms, and mandarin zest were a bit gossamer, but lovely.
A light, trending medium-bodied off dry white wine with good acidity, a straight-forward flavor profile reflective of the aromas, and a very long finish marked by mint leaf, lemon oil, white pepper, and a well-balanced 12.5% alcohol clearly showed its pedigree.
I don't ever remember pairing a Chablis with Asian cuisine, but this one was splendid.

Tasted again 3.1.2022
