Château Lalande de Gravet Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2018 Bordeaux Red Wine, $28.04-$74.99, 90 points, poured a deep pomegranate red with a clear meniscus and medium clear legs.
Aromas of cinnamon-spiced red cherry, red raspberry, hints of cedar, and dried herbs were good.
This Bordeaux was just barely full-bodied with good acidity, comfortable tannins, and a juicy flavor/texture profile, but notable flavors of anise, cherry fruit, a hint of Sambuca, and white pepper were balanced.
Finished long on Sambuca, pepper, and a well-balanced 13.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our prosaic cheeseburgers.
