Louis Pommery Single vineyard, Carneros 2019 Chardonnay, $21.24-$24.99, 90 points, was a light brass color with a wide grayish penumbra.
Aromas of floral apricots, soft white chocolate, white pepper, and just a hint of hazelnuts were subtle and complex.
This Carneros Chardonnay was barely medium-bodied, was dry yet with an easy mouthfeel, showed fair to good acidity, and flavors that meticulously followed the aromas garnished with a sprinkling of lemon zest.
Finished well, mildly tart, showed just a hint of ginger, and matched the balanced texture and flavors, with a 14% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our baked chicken/veggie pie.
