Domaine Bousquet Mendoza, Argentina 2020 Malbec Reserve, $13.99-$16.99, 91 points, poured a deep ruby red with a broad clear meniscus and fat-stained legs.
Aromas of rose pedal, black fruit, and a strong whiff of alcohol were good.
As is true of most Malbec red wines, this one was full-bodied, showed fair acidity, a supportive underlayment of tannin, also was smooth textually, and delivered good flavors throughout the palate of pepper spices, blackberries, anise, and a hint of mint and red cherry.
Finished long on the fading palate and a big 14.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our "burnt" pork ends in barbeque sauce.
