Merriam Vineyards Russian River Danielle's Estate 2021 Sauvignon Blanc, $16.99-$21.99, 88 points, was a medium brass color with copper highlights and graying towards the rim.
Aromas were grassy with hints of grapefruit zest and gooseberries.
Merriam gave us a light-bodied brightly acidic white wine with a very angular mouthfeel and flavors of ginger ale, fresh-cut hay, hints of honeydew melon, and a whisper of lemon oil.
Finished long on the ginger ale with a lemon squeeze and a big 14.3% alcohol.
Paired fine with my Yellowfin tuna salad.
