Septima Mendoza, Argentina 2021 Malbec, $11.04-$16.99, 91 points, poured a deep ruby red with violet highlights, a thin orange/red penumbra, a broad clear meniscus, and surprisingly light legs.
Aromas were rich-ripe black fruit, mulberry, with hints of coffee and clove.
Septima was a full-bodied red wine, soft with a slight late palate edginess, showed fair acidity, and good flavors reflective of the aromas with building cayenne pepper and green bell-pepper notes.
Finished long on the trailing palate, earthy loam notes, and a well-balanced 14% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our Texas burgers.
An amazing red wine for the price!
