Château Carignan Grand Vin Cadillac Premières Côtes De (Red) 2014 Bordeaux Red Wine, $21.99-$24.99, 88 points, poured a not quite clear dark ruby red with a brick red penumbra, a clear wine ring, and fat stained legs.
Aromatic floral orange zest with a touch of cocoa were lovely.
Medium-bodied red wine with good acidity, comfortably supportive tannins, a bit of a 'hard-water' feel, and showing late palate flavors of black tea, coffee, earth, ripe blackberry, and escalating pepper spices.
Finished on the trailing palate with a balanced 13.5% alcohol.
Varietals were 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc.
Paired fine with my Firehouse steak and cheese sub.
