Hedges Red Mountain 2008 Red Wine, $26.99-$30.99, 91 points, is magenta to ruby in color.
Sweet red licorice, strawberry, and red cherry accentuate a subtle aroma.
The near full body carries good acidity and mild tannin, giving over to rich flavors of red cherry, plum, and traces of tangy-tar.
Hedges Red Mountain finishes with some length on hints of spice and mint.
Varietals are 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 14% Syrah, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Melbec. This blend has some vintage variation.
Just a note to NH Red-Wine lovers: the price of the 2010 power-buy, has a remarkable price of $15.99, and if the 2010 is as good as the 2008, that seems like a steal to me.
