Hogue Columbia Valley Late Harvest 2010 Riesling, $8.49-$11.99, 88 points, appeared as a light brassy color, and the aroma was quite complex with honey, pome fruit, and sweet orange marmalade.
This rather sweet Riesling had a near medium body with good acidity and carried much of the aroma onto the palate with some citrus.
Though the wine paired well with baked-stuffed haddock and fried onion rings (peanut oil), as a stand-alone wine, I wasn't as satisfied, but the quality price ratio was good.
It should be noted that others tasting this wine at the same table and same bottle with me, picked-up on flavors I didn't. So, give it a try next time you're looking for a moderately sweet RSL for under $10.
