Copain's L'hiver 2008 Syrah

Copain L'hiver (Winter) 2008 Syrah, $7.64-$19.99, 91 points, has a dense purple-red color with a broad transparent rim.
A powerful aroma of cedar and clove with hints of coffee and bacon fat, certainly leave an impression.
Striking me as a Rhone-styled red wine with lip smacking acidity, heavy earth tones, juicy blackberry and hints of coffee, licorice, and smoky bacon fat, this is a loaded (Everything on this pizza please!) near full-bodied Syrah, drinking easy on mild tannin.
Finishes juicy with hints of black licorice and spice.

  1. Sounds like the single vineyard Copain wines are knocking it out of the park!

    1. Bill, for $7.64, this just may have taken first place in best-buy wine of the year, and if there is any more of this left, I'll-a-b-buyin! Those earth tone may not be for everyone.
