Beautiful floral red cherry with cedar and sweet cooking spice on the nose were exceptional.
An early palate velvety texture prepared the way for the delicious blackberry, boysenberry, and cherry fruit, while adding subtle notes of savory herbs, anise, coffee bean, and tobacco manifested the talents of Mike Grgich. This is a Cabernet that reached deep into my sense of history, complexity, and earth (I don't mean to wax pedantic).
Full bodied with good acidity and fine-tuned tannin that reached long into the finish of the trailing palate, some heat (14.6% alcohol), tart pomegranate, and a climatic white pepper. Just lovely!
