Juan Gil 2010 Jumilla Red Wine

Juan Gil 2010 Jumilla Red Wine, $17.10-$22,99, 91 points, 100% Monastrell red wine, began draping the glass with sheets of wine clinging to the glass wall and tapering to the broadly transparent rim; overall the wine appeared a deep purple/red.
The profuse and distinctive aroma displayed candied red cherry, black currant, earth, and a whiff of alcohol.
Medium-plus bodied with good acidity and moderate-plus tannin carried rich flavors of coffee, tobacco, briar-like blackberry, sage, and licorice into a long finish of spice, eucalyptus, with some heat (15% alcohol).
This was another great find at the Londonderry Hannaford's Supermarket.

  1. I just discovered this wine at the NHLS for $15.99, and if you buy 12 bottles of wine, take 15% off!

  2. Dennis....talk about a futures wine! Impressive. :) This wine is great. Simple rule for Spanish values, if it's got Jorge Ordonez on the back label, I'm a buyer. His stuff is great.
