Buehler Napa Valley 2011 Zinfandel, $13.85-$22.99, 90 points, appeared core-opaque trending ruby up to the broad transparent rim.
Earth, blackberry, and Bell-pepper on the nose were just okay for me.
Medium-plus body carried good acidity and smooth moderate tannin.
Plum, black currant, licorice, savory, and hints of coffee and sweet tobacco flavors were excellent.
Finished long on the trailing palate and spice with a sweet-spot 14.9% alcohol for mild heat.
Above par Zinfandel for a great price: Last chance wine at the NHLS.
