Joseph Phelps Napa Valley 2007 Insignia Red Wine

Joseph Phelps Napa Valley 2007 Insignia Red Wine, $144.99-$225.99, 97 points, poured core black trending crushed blackberry red toward the clear rim.
Vibrantly aromatic with roses, sweet hibiscus, black fruit, cedar, cinnamon, with just a hint of clove. One of the finest bouquets I've had the privilege to experience.
The full body carried good acidity, layered rich tannin, and the best fruit-forward wine I've yet tasted.
Balanced and nuanced textures were velvety and dense, with flavors married to the aroma (plus a lively cola flavor), all of which added to a sense of  proportionality that makes almost any other full-bodied red wine seem awkward and clumsy.
Finished long on the trailing palate, white and cayenne pepper, a well integrated 14.5% alcohol, and a hint of plum.
Varietals are 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.
On the occasion of my son's 25th birthday, I brought this wine out of the cellar for our celebration.
