Ridge East Bench 2012 Zinfandel, $23.79-$27.99, 91 points, poured core black trending deep magenta up toward the clear glass rim.
There were sea breezes and lilacs on the nose with black olives and blackberries.
Nearly full bodied, smooth, with a sense of a glycerin-like quality (sleek and slightly sweet), fair acidity and light-plus tannin making for a not so mindless quaffing red wine.
The flavors faithfully mirrored the aroma and trailed into the long finish of oak, spice, and the 14.9% alcohol.
It is very difficult to go wrong with a Ridge Winery Wine!
Ridge, why it's a "go to" winery.
