Limerick Lane Collins Vineyard Russian River 2009 Zinfandel

Limerick Lane Collins Vineyard Russian River 2009 Zinfandel, $15.29-$35.99 (Power buy), 90 points, has a bright ruby color, verdant aroma of black bramble berries, cooking spice, and coffee, all carried onto the palate with lively red cherry, licorice, and plum.
A medium body with good acidity and firm tannin lead to a medium off-sweet finish, with spice and a hint of heat (14.6% alcohol).
A very good wine with a great quality to price ratio.
Barbecue anyone? get this one while it lasts, because when they're gone. . .

  1. Dennis,

Looks like a great price for a single vineyard RRV Zin. Hope to stumble across this one.

    1. Nick, by now you may have noticed that this vineyard is a winner for me, and I have a few more of their offerings which I'm looking forward to tasting.
      Thanks for keeping in touch,
      Dennis

  3. if you had to pick between the Limerick Lane zin or the Decoy zin, which would you prefer?

    1. jimmothy, both good wines, but I'd have to go with price on this one, and since the NHLS has the Decoy 2009 Zin on a power-buy of $12.99 (I believe), that's the one I'd grab right now, as a matter of fact, an even better choice would be the Z52, another power-buy, and I believe that one is $9.99; heck, buy them all. Three great wines, a bit different in style and all for around $37; you can hardly touch that with a stick, and as a taste developer it's a good deal. Try a blind tasting and let me know what you think. Dave from store 33 gave the Z52 90 points.

  4. I just wrote a real time review of this wine (winecask.blogspot.com) and its always nice to see uniformity of the basic qualities of such a wine. Well done! (PB) "Senior Tasteman at the Wine cask blog.

  5. Dennis and Billy--I did in fact copy the image from Dennis' blog. I had never seen nor experienced a copyright on a blog image in 8 years of blogging so I was innocently oblivious of the error. It was rectified within 30-60 minutes of my posting the picture of a wine bottle. My apologies--again--extended to Dennis!

As for me, my photography is my "Art", and I trust you can understand this and how artists feel when the "preception" is misled!
    Thank you for your understanding!
