Château La Croix De Beaucaillou Saint-Julien 2009 Bordeaux, $42.49-$49.99, 93 points, begins the display with colors of black currant to deep ruby and trailing clear at the rim.
There's a sweetness to the aroma, a touch of sweet red cherry, floral, and rich and profuse sweet cooking spices which delight.
Nuanced flavors of licorice, coffee, tobacco, and minty tar are eagerly wrapped in a juicy package of black and blueberries carried along with a near full body of ample acidity, smooth approachable tannin, and a tart trailing palate on the finish of a nearly unnoticeable 13.5% alcohol.
