Ryan Patrick 2012 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, $25.49-$29.99, 90 points, poured an opaque ruby trending a crushed black currant purple/red with a broad clear wine ring.
The fragrance of chocolate, cedar, blackberries, and tobacco were excellent.
Full unctuous body married fair acidity with a rather tame grainy tannin, making for an easy supple red wine; personally I would have preferred a tighter tannic expression (JMO).
Uber rich plum flavors dominated the black currant, truffle, tobacco, and violet notes.
Finished long on dried cook spices, mint, chalky-chocolate, and a surprisingly well managed 15.5% alcohol.
Having produced only 200 cases, I was very much looking forward to tasting this North West (Mattawa, Washington) Cabernet Sauvignon.
