Bodegas Borsao Vina Borgia, Campo de Borja, 2009 Grenache (Spain), $4.99-$14.99, 89 points, poured a bright ruby trending orange/red near the broad clear wine ring with thick legs.
Aromatic nutmeg, boysenberry jam, brine, and a whiff of alcohol were good.
Medium-plus body (nearly full) carried good acidity, pronounced grainy tannin, and flavors reflective of the aromas with a dominant fruity spiciness.
Finished long on an intensifying spiciness and a warm 14% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our Kalamata olives, feta cheese salad with a Balsamic vinaigrette, and pepperoni pizza.
