Senda 66 La Mancha (Spain) 2008 Tempranillo, $8.49-$11.99, 88+ points, poured an opaque ruby with a slight orange/red hue transition at the glass shallows and broad clear wine ring.
Smells were subtle cinnamon, brine, plum, blackberry, and roses.
Near full-bodied, fair-plus acidity, upfront luscious texture descended into a more typical firmer tannic Tempranillo.
Plum flavors dominated red fruit notes, but hints of tobacco and chocolate were good.
Finished long on warm spices, a hint of mint, plum, and a well integrated 14% alcohol.
