L'Ecole No 41 Columbia Valley 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

L'Ecole No 41 Columbia Valley 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, $28.99-$33.99, 91 points, poured a deep purple/red with a clear wine ring and heavy sheeting on the glass bowl.
Aromatic sweet cedar, hints of peppermint, blackberry, and autumn leaves were excellent.
Medium-plus bodied with fair acidity and unobtrusive tannin were partly responsible for the silky texture, but rather than demoting this Cabernet Sauvignon, the texture, with a fruit forward flavor profile, enhanced the quality and character of this wine; this is not just a gulp-able red wine, but is delicious, and though nuanced flavors of anise, cola, and dried cooking herbs were subtle and dominated by the black fruit, they gave support for a more ruminative approach to drinking this wine.
Finished fair with an energizing 14.5% alcohol, warm spice notes, and plum.
