Stags' Leap Napa Valley 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, $49.99-$54.99, 93 points, poured core black trending blood-red toward the broad clear wine ring.
Aromatic coffee, cedar, clove, cinnamon, underbrush, and warm luscious blackberries were excellent.
The near full body carried fair-plus acidity with layered supportive tannin.
Flavors were rich and complex with black currant, blackberry, insinuated mulling spice, cola, coffee, truffle, and cherry notes.
Finished long on the trailing palate, a well integrated 14.1% alcohol, hints of spearmint, and easy mild spice notes.

Hmmm, just a Napa Valley Cab, not Stags Leap District, interesting.
ReplyDeleteMostly from the Yountville AVA, but that's not from the horses' mouth!
